Geotechnical design of temporary retaining wall next to listed buildings belonging to the District Administration of Paphos.  The adjacent building was a building dated to the early British Administration period and it was constructed around1900s.  The proposed basement was going to be constructed in the small yard exactly next to the building.  A temporary retaining wall with HEA beams and gunite (shotcrete) was designed.  The excavation was not deep, about 4m, but no displacements that could cause settlement to the listed building could be tolerated.
